BlackRock Partners with Cipriani To Donate 800 Meals to City Harvest

 

New York, December 2008 BlackRock, Inc. (NYSE:BLK), Cipriani and City Harvest today announced that they will partner to donate 800 meals to people in need across New York City.  Funding for these meals will be provided by BlackRock, preparation by Cipriani on Wall Street, and  distribution made by City Harvest. Volunteering efforts will be jointly sponsored.

 

On Monday, December 8, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, at 55 Wall Street, volunteers from BlackRock and Cipriani will package 800 freshly made three course holiday meals and store them in City Harvest’s regulated food containers.

  

On Tuesday, December 9, starting at 8:30am, at 55 Wall Street, BlackRock and Cipriani volunteers will load food containers onto the City Harvest vehicles for delivery to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Soup Kitchen, and various soup kitchens throughout Manhattan and the Bronx.

  

Later on Tuesday, from 3:30pm – 5:30pm, BlackRock volunteers including, President Robert Kapito and Vice Chairman Barbara Novick, Cipriani’s wait staff, and City Harvest Executive Director, Jilly Stephens will serve 400 meals to clients of The Momentum Project, one of the more than 600 agencies that City Harvest provides food to each year. The meal service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church (54 th Street and Lexington Avenue). The additional 400 meals will be served at multiple locations.
