Aids Walk 2006
On Sunday, May 21st, the Momentum Project, along with hundreds of
other organizations in and around the New York area, participated in a 6-mile
Aids Walk held in Manhattan’s Central Park and Upper West Side. The event,
organized by the Gay Men’s Health Crisis, a New York nonprofit group that
provides care to Aids patients, raised a total of $6.5 million and reported over
47,000 participants for the Walk.
A portion of the proceeds from the Walk will benefit various New York area AIDS
organizations, including the Momentum Project, which raised over $4,000. Thanks
to all of our walkers and sponsors and a special thank you to Mr. Richard
Dematteis for raising a total of $2,461.00 for Momentum!
